Studio AYMAC is celebrating 9 years, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has joined us on this journey: those who watch our stories, those who believe in them, but especially those who have made them possible. Every project has been the result of many wills working in unison, a chain of talents that has brought technical skill, sensibility, and vision to serve the narrative.
AYMAC was born from the creative and transformative impulse of May Mc’Causland, founder and CEO, and the shared vision with Gustavo Angarita Jr., co-founder, whose initial spark was key to solidifying the studio’s identity. Since then, this vision has been sustained and empowered by a legal, accounting, creative, and graphic team that has allowed the studio’s structure to grow with purpose. Thanks to those who keep the day-to-day running —Julia, Liliana, Maritza, Elizabeth, Zara, and Aolani— we continue to tell stories that cross borders. Each person has contributed a fundamental piece to this collective construction.

These are the faces of some of the talented creatives and collaborators who make up our studio.
Among the works that have marked our path, the transmedia project “Denominación de Origen” (Appellation of Origin) holds a special place. It was born with the studio and taught us the importance of creating with and for the community. It took us to the Colombian Pacific, where we were based for years, traveling over 35,000 kilometers, building ties with local leaders, midwives, traditional knowledge keepers, and artists. From there, stories like “Arrullando” (Cooing), “La sombra de tu sonrisa” (The Shadow of Your Smile), “Kintsugi,” “A destiempo” (Untimely), “La Bestia” (The Beast), “Metro,” and many others have touched hearts, won awards, and opened new avenues for creation.
Almost a decade later —a period punctuated by challenges like a global pandemic— AYMAC has solidified its position as a resilient and committed studio. We have collaborated with over 1,000 people: technicians, artists, screenwriters, directors, producers, advisors, investors, co-producers, suppliers, and strategic allies. Each one has been an essential part of that mechanism that turns an idea into a story that gets made and shared, but also into an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
This anniversary reminds us why we do what we do: we believe in the power of stories and that works grow through collaboration. From this perspective, we have crossed borders, forged alliances, and solidified co-productions that have enriched both our practice and that of those who have worked alongside us.
And because sharing is also learning, we want to leave those who read us a summary of the four lessons that have guided our journey:
1.Stories grow thanks to the community.
No idea strengthens in isolation; it thrives when shared, and in doing so, finds its audience in any corner of the world.
2. Talent needs structure.
Creativity flourishes when there’s planning. Working with clear goals and roles provides direction. Improv without focus wears you down more than it drives you forward.
3. Trust is as important as creativity.
Without trust, processes stall. This is built with honest dialogue, clear agreements, and mutual respect.
4. Listening to technical and creative talent improves content.
While the director has the final say, listening to those who build the process enriches the vision and leads to better results.
Today, we celebrate every person who has been a part of this story. Nine years later, we remain certain: ideas don’t grow alone, stories aren’t told in isolation, and no achievement is reached without a team.
We will continue creating content that transforms, connects, and elevates voices. Because at Studio AYMAC, we believe that everything imagined is possible
Thank you for these 9 years of collective creation!
