LA MOTIVACIÓN DEL EQUIPO REALIZADOR

To explain why we want to create this documentary is like trying to explain why you love someone or the sense of peace you feel when, after a long journey, you return to sleep in your own bed; it’s challenging to fully articulate. Everyone has their reasons, but we could attribute it to the warmth of the people, the “magic” of the territory with its sunrises, the way you are welcomed by communities, and how myths intertwine with reality, much like a lullaby can greet a newborn or bid farewell to a little one who has passed away. In this world of knowledge and stories, the figure of Midwives stands out—they not only provide their services but also carry out traditional tasks and are the backbone of society in the communities where they operate. That’s why, among the countless admirable figures in the Pacific, we believe that the work of midwifery allows us to explore more aspects of the culture and, just as they guide the birthing process for mothers, they serve as a guide for us to immerse ourselves in Pacific life.
